The AIF filter packs block unwanted web content such as pornography, malware (aka spyware), gambling and the option to also block social networkings sites such as facebook, myspace, youtube and twitter. The combined "free to download and use" Privoxy internet filter engine also blocks unwanted third party ads and improves privacy protection by providing browser cookie management.

The social network filter (standard option) also blocks acccess to high traffic websites that may expose the personal details of minors on the internet.

The AIF filters can be enabled or disabled by the user via the Privoxy filter engine configuration file.

Note : The AIF filter packs can only be installed and used after the "FREE TO USE" Privoxy internet filter engine has been downloaded and installed...

The web browser proxy server settings need to be changed to take advantage of the filter engine.

The web browser proxy server settings must be set to :-
server: 127.0.0.1
port: 8118

You can also use "localhost" instead of 127.0.0.1 for the proxy server setting. "localhost" provides the value of 127.0.0.1 to the PC. The quick start installation guide that details the settings for the Privoxy internet filter engine can be found here :-

Step 2)
Purchase and download the AIF Filter Pack.
Once you have the Privoxy internet filter engine working, purchase the AIF filter pack here:-

Download, save and run the AIF filters pack setup program. Restart the computer after the AIF pack is installed. No configuration changes need to be made to the AIF internet filters. The AIF filters are pre-configured and will work after the PC is restarted. AIF filters may be enabled or disabled in the Privoxy filter engine configuration file if required.
